This renovation presented a unique opportunity—to revisit a custom home we’d previously built for long-standing Empire clients. While the trust in our craftsmanship remained unchanged, their lifestyle and preferences had evolved significantly, calling for a design refresh rather than a structural overhaul.

Still wanting to keep their original floorplan and established location, our clients approached us seeking an aesthetic transformation that would reflect their new lifestyle as empty nesters. The goal was clear: maintain the home’s original functional flow but update its interior design dramatically with a bold new vision for a more hosting-focused way of living.

To help shape the interiors, our clients brought in an interior designer from the United States whom they had enjoyed working with previously—just as they had enjoyed working with Empire. Wanting the best of both worlds, they assembled a “dream team” of trusted collaborators who could bring the project’s full potential to life. We tailored our process specifically to the needs of this custom renovation, ensuring clear communication and smooth coordination every step of the way.

THE DELIVERY:

Understanding this renovation was primarily focused on interior design allowed our team to work hand-in-hand with the client’s U.S.-based interior designer to bring each space to life with a distinct personality, while ensuring we preserved the harmony of the home. These clients had an appreciation for the bold with discerning aesthetic taste, challenging us to reimagine each space creatively without sacrificing the existing functionality they loved.

Through close collaboration between Empire and the designer, each room was reinterpreted with fresh expression—pairing the designer’s curated selections with our craftsmanship to elevate the interiors beyond expectation.

Leveraging Empire’s proven project management expertise, open communication, and our network of trusted trade professionals, the renovation process unfolded seamlessly. To provide absolute clarity and confidence, we created photo-realistic 3D renderings—allowing the clients to preview their home’s stunning transformation long before any physical work began.

One structural change involved reconfiguring the primary suite’s closet, expanding it into the former laundry room and integrating laundry directly within the newly enhanced closet space. This smart adjustment offered improved functionality and convenience, perfectly aligning with their updated needs.

Inside, this home transformed from a traditional aesthetic to a strikingly bold and modern interior. The kitchen, once a warm and traditional space, is now a sophisticated focal point—featuring glossy black subway tile, a striking statement range paired with a matching metal island, and custom cabinetry that showcases multiple design details in one cohesive space, including painted finishes, warm oak, inset panels, glass doors, and floating shelves, This kitchen embodies a confident harmony of timeless craftsmanship and modern sophistication.
