These clients came to Empire seeking a partner who could deliver exceptional craftsmanship, structural integrity, and the thoughtful design they were looking for. Following an unsatisfactory experience building their previous home, at the top of their list was a robust building envelope that would stand strong against the elements, ensuring long-lasting durability and energy efficiency through every season. 

Knowing Empire’s award-winning reputation, our clients envisioned a luxurious yet practical “bunga-loft” home, providing the comfort of main-floor living with additional loft space above—ideal for aging-in-place. Equally important was crafting an interior that elegantly blended traditional European inspiration with contemporary sophistication, resulting in intentional contrasts like graceful archways juxtaposed against sharp, modern vaults and sculptural accents. The clients’ deep appreciation for hand-crafted quality inspired us to incorporate custom-designed elements, from handmade lighting fixtures to artisan-crafted arched doors, stone finishes, and a bespoke sculpted range hood.

THE DELIVERY:

Empire’s architectural team led this home’s design from concept through construction, ensuring cohesive execution down to the smallest detail. Situated on a coveted corner lot overlooking Valour Park, our thoughtful floorplan took advantage of this location’s beautiful views, bringing in abundant natural light through oversized windows, and a dramatic vaulted ceiling that elevates this home’s feeling of spaciousness.

Empire’s meticulous attention to structural integrity came to life through a high-performance building envelope—carefully designed and executed to meet our exacting standards for durability and efficiency. Clear communication was central to this project’s success; our detailed walkthroughs and insightful renderings provided transparency, keeping clients involved and confident every step of the way.

Blending contrasting design elements demanded expert planning and precise execution, showcased perfectly where soft traditional arches gracefully frame the kitchen’s range wall beneath striking contemporary ceiling vaults. This intentional mingling between past and present sets the tone throughout the entire home.

Park Side Loft beautifully captures traditional elegance, evident in elements like its arched design motif, fluted millwork, reeded cabinetry details, stunning herringbone floors, and a meticulously sculpted range hood. A dramatic vaulted ceiling crowns the main floor and loft, lending an airy grandeur to every living space—with a sophisticated media room down in the basement, equipped with a built-in bar, providing the perfect space for relaxed gatherings and entertaining.  

Thanks to thoughtful planning of this home’s window placement and its park side location, the adjacent green space remains an ever-present feature—framed by expansive windows that invite the outdoors in. Upstairs, the home’s loft den opens directly onto a second outdoor deck, complete with its own exterior fireplace—offering a cozy, elevated retreat and another way to enjoy the outdoors in comfort.

Completing the picture, as a home designed to support aging in place, this floorplan includes a discreetly integrated elevator, ensuring all floors remain easily accessible for years to come.
