THE ASK:
Perched along Calgary’s Elbow River, Riverwalk Fusion began with a clear goal: to build a forever home that could embrace riverfront living in all its beauty. Partnered with an architect, these clients needed a builder they could trust; one with a reputation for quality, precision, and experience in custom construction to execute the architectural ambitions of this home. That’s where Empire came in. From floodplain planning to structural execution, our role was to deliver on the vision: a home with soaring vaulted ceilings and intricate millwork—all anchored by construction that would stand the test of time.
THE DELIVERY:
A quality home starts at the foundation. Before framing began, we excavated beyond standard foundation depth to anchor the home and give it the underground strength it needed. This proactive flood mitigation strategy became the structural backbone of the home. Laying solid roots to resist the pressures that come from rising water, safeguarding the home for generations without compromising its beautiful design.
Above ground, our team worked closely to shape the grand millwork features that define this home. From planning to installation, every panel was custom-built and aligned with precision—extending up walls, across double-height spaces, and wrapping the ceilings with tailored craftsmanship. Throughout the process, our team delivered what we’re known for: expert project management, quality construction, and a hands-on building approach that ensures nothing is overlooked—no matter how ambitious the details.
FEATURES + HIGHLIGHTS:
Riverwalk Fusion is a home built to complement its setting—wrapped in natural materials that echo it’s surrounding landscape. From cedar shakes and stone columns to warm wood doors, every element feels connected to its riverside roots. Inside, the attention to detail continues. The millwork is a bold statement—crafted on-site, measured to perfection, and finished to feel like a custom piece of art. These ambitious details required more than just care, they required the skill and standards of a builder who could execute at the highest level.
Additionally, this is a home built for gathering, with four fireplaces throughout, including the double-sided wood-burning fireplace that rises over two stories, connecting the great room to an adjacent living space while anchoring both in warmth and presence. All together, these features reflect the heart of the project: thoughtful, resilient craftsmanship paired with inspired design—turning a riverfront lot into a home that’s ready for anything and built to inspire for generations to come.
